Ólafur Darri Ólafsson has been one of Iceland's most talented and beloved actors for 15 years. Known for the bellowing of his deep voice, he's made appearances on stage, TV, in films as well as having played in commercials and dubbed cartoon voices. He has just come back from a three month viking raid into the American movie business, where he played in one film and two TV shows with famous actors like Liam Neeson, Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey.
The film he participated in is called “A Walk Among the Tombstones” and stars Liam Neeson in the leading role. Ólafur Darri does not let the success go to his head and remains modest and grateful for the opportunities he was offered. When asked how it was, to suddenly play against such a famous actor, he had this to say: “At first, I found it a bit absurd. But he's a really nice guy and very experienced so it was just fun. He knows what he's doing.”
But are all actors alike if they are good in what they do?
“Frankly, yes. I don't think there's any difference between Ingvar E. Sigurðsson and Liam Neeson. They're both wonderful professionals. The only difference is that one is working on a market that reaches a billion viewers, but the other on one that reaches maybe around a hundred thousand.
