Director Baltasar Kormákur in peak condition.

Icelandic award-winning director Baltasar Kormákur is preparing a film about the deadliest accident having occured on Mount Everest when, on 11th May 1996, eight mountaineers lost their lives to the abysmal weather conditions. Baltasar Kormákur says he isn't allowed to reveal any of the actors that will star in the film, only that “two of the names are really big”. The last film Baltasar directed was “2 Guns”, which will hit theatres in August and stars Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington, so it will be interesting to see who was chosen for Baltasar's next feature film project. Shootings of the film will begin in October in Nepal, at Mount Everest. Other filming locations include The Dolomite mountain range in Italy. When asked if the filming will be arduous, the director had this to say : “It's going to be very challenging. But I think it will not be as problematic as The Deep.”
