The story is about a country girl, an aspiring musician who comes to the city looking for opportunities. She starts working in a bar and meets a few men who impact her life dramatically. The lead actress, Ingibjörg Stefánsdóttir, was a part of the band Pís of keik (Peace of Cake) and the band is featured prominently in the movie. They are the band she’s looking to join and their music is used in several scenes.
Júlíus Kemp studied film making at the West Surrey College of Art & Design in the UK. The short film Happy Birthday (16mm/bw) was made in WSCAD/London in 1991. Julius left college to work as editor on _Children of Nature (1991)_ by 'Fridrik Thor Fridriksson', nominated for Oscar as best foreign film. He was a co-founder of the Icelandic Film Company in 1991 and co-wrote and directed his first feature film, _Veggfóður erótísk ástarsaga (1992)_, a box office hit the same year, produced by Fridriksson and Kemp. He was director of The Reykjavík Intl. Short Film Festival from 1993 to 2000. Film critic from 1993-1994. A member of the selection committee for the Reykjavík Film Festival. Board member of Association of Icelandic Film Producers, SÍK, from 1993 to 2000. Kemp is a member of the European Film Academy since 2001.
