Vera is a young woman who has no memories of her mother. Her desperate search for a mother image merges with her own search of self as she inevitably makes an attempt to define the boundary between herself and a mother she never knew.
Ugla Hauksdóttir is an Icelandic filmmaker and photographer living in New York. In 2011 she graduated from The Cooper Union (New York) with a B.FA. where she focused on experimental filmmaking and photography. “Vera” is Ugla’s first narrative film and her graduating thesis project at The Cooper Union where she was awarded with The Robert Breer Film award. Ugla has been accepted into the M.FA. program at Columbia University where she will begin her studies in screenwriting and directing in the fall of 2012.
