Slavek is an elderly caretaker of a public lavatory and is proud of his job. He becomes anxious to see more and more automatic toilets installed in town. Then something changes. He falls in love with a woman toilet caretaker who is working on the other side of the street.
Grimur Hakonarson graduated from FAMU - Film Academy of Performing Arts in Prague 2004. His graduate film, Slavek the Shit, was selected to the Cannes Film Festival 2005 and it won 10 prizes in festivals around the world. Grimur also made a short film called Wrestling (2007), about two homosexual wrestlers in the country side of Iceland. Wrestling won 24 festival prizes and was selected to festivals like Locarno, Sundance, Rotterdam and many others. Grimur is now working on his first feature film, Summerland, which will come out in January 2010. Summerland tells the story of a family who tries to incorporate icelandic spiritualism.
