A story of a lonely teenage girl's quest for independence. Forced by her neglectful parents to spend the summer in a camp for much younger children, Kaja runs away. What she encounters on her journey are the dangers of the exotic Icelandic wilderness and her deepest fears.
Erla Skuladottir entered the world of filmmaking in her homeland, Iceland, where she produced and directed an award winning documentary series for the National TV Broadcasting Station. She graduated from New York University’s Graduate Film Program where she directed and shot over 10 shorts. She was nominated as NYU’s Best Female Director by the Director’s Guild of America in 1999 and won the same award in 2003. She won the Nestor Almendros Award in Cinematography in 2002. Savior has won 26 awards in film festivals worldwide and was on a 10 film shortlist for the Academy Awards in 2005. Savior was picked by Kodak to be their representative at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006.
