"Árstíðir: You just have to know of me" portraits six grounded and layed back musicians, Daniel, Gunnar, Hallgrímur, Jón, Karl and Ragnar, each extraordinairy talented on their instruments. In the middle of pulsing and lively Reykjavík this band composes remarkable sounds – melancholic and positive at the same time.
Narrated by the bandmembers themselves this documentary introduces the band and and their hometown Reykjavík. The audience accompanies the band at a small cosy concert in a café and at the annual gig in Frikirkja. Who has not known Árstíðir yet, will know of them after watching this documentary. You just have to know of them.
"Árstíðir: You just have to know of me" is the debut of young director Lilja Häfele born in Germany, 1985. From 2007 on, Lilja Häfele has been freelanced as a videojournalist in Germany and has realised various commis- sion work productions, as corporate videos, mainly with social and cultural background. Besides her focus on sign language productions, music plays a central role in her life. After having produced some music videos, as the price winning full accessable musicvideo »Waiting«, »You just have to know of me« is her first full length documentary and the feature film production of No Rational Product. And it won´t be her last one.
In 2010 Lilja went to iceland to realise different documentative projects. She got connected to the Icelandic music and culture scene and already has the next ideas „work in progress“.
